As a full-time classroom teacher, I am passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives and using education as a tool for positive change. I joined the SPARK team in 2019 because I believe in its mission to help children in developing compassion, self-confidence, and positivity, while inspiring them to spread these values to others.
SPARKPositivity has enabled me to pursue this passion further by helping children unlock their potential and develop essential skills. Through our hands-on, engaging lessons, we have the opportunity to empower students, foster their emotional growth, and equip them with the tools they need to succeed.
One thing that sets the SPARKPositivity program apart is that it fosters personal growth beyond academics, equipping students with skills that enrich all areas of life, including the classroom. The weekly lessons are relevant to everyone, offering learning outcomes that last a lifetime!
Favorite Lesson: Empowerment: Undefined
In this lesson, students trace a silhouette of themselves and then fill it with positive affirmations and traits that make them unique. What I love about this activity is that it helps students understand that they are distinct individuals and don’t need to compare themselves to anyone else. They are enough just as they are, and the focus should always be on their own personal growth, rather than trying to be better than someone else.
Self-empowerment and self-care help ten-year-olds build confidence, resilience, and independence as they navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges. At this stage, students encounter increasing academic, social, and emotional challenges. Learning self-care—both physically and emotionally—helps them build strength and independence to thrive..
