The intersection of virtual reality technology, social change paradigms, local culture, peer-reviewed data and conceptual knowledge creates a dynamic base and practical solutions for children and community (Cunha, F., Heckman, J.J., Lochner, L. J., 2006 & Ladson-Billings, G. 2000). Culturally relevant activity choices empower and honor the culture of the participants.   The cognitive and affective empathy, self-efficacy, and physiological mindfulness activities strengthens critical thinking skills. A culturally relevant approach for engagement builds on the strength base of the community and neighborhood setting.  


SPARKPositivity also conducts pre and post assessments at each of SPARK’S partner locations. Results have displayed that SPARK’s curriculum is having success in changing and enhancing student’s hearts and minds.
